CARPENTER

August 19, 2009

One time, there was a carpenter who was old enough to prepare for retirement work. He then reported it to his superiors, that it was time he now spends time with family, and enjoy the twilight period of his life. He, probably will miss the times salary, but he needed time to rest. Son and his wife, took all the presence of a father at home. Superiors, so lamented the carpenter desires. Because, so far, he has worked quite well. The boss then asked him to make a home, for a final personal request to him. The carpenter said yes. However, apparently it was not the best time to continue working. The mood of the workers, too carried away to get it over with. Haste and hurry, that’s about it at the time.

He, only set up makeshift tools and workers, and makes the house from the materials cheap and easy to obtain. He forgot all the materials of quality to the last house that made it. When the carpenter finished building it, the boss came to check and see the results of these employees work. He then invited the carpenter, to the front door. Then, he handed the house keys to the carpenter again. “This is home for you, his boss said,” angggaplah, this gift from me … “The carpenter was shocked to hear that. Ah, how embarrassing. Ah, if only he knew that this building is for him, of course, he would not do all this. He certainly will do so with caution. If only, before, the boss tells all this work, of course, he’ll do the best.

Friends, that’s us. This story, at least is a reflection for us. We build homes of our lives, time after time, and too often we use materials and patch vulnerable to a future that we designed. Too often, we, who are often neglectful of this, build a life, with a careless step, not careful, and in a hurry. We are also often, do not give the best for our lives. Then, we will be surprised with what we make for this. We must live, in a “house of life” we have made previously. Experience, at least a clever teacher, who gave the test at the beginning of class, then just explain it later. If only, we can build it again from the beginning, of course, we would do differently. If only we knew earlier, would the results would be different. But, unfortunately, we can not return to the past. We can not change fate has past. Ah if only … Friends, we’re the carpenter. Every moment, we are hitting the pegs in the columns of this life, placing cross the ceiling of our heads, and make the walls of the soul. There was someone who once said, Life, is a personal project that needs to be done alone. Actions, attitudes, and behavior and the choices we make today, will determine, “home life” what would we live in the future. Build a house with more wisely.

HOTEL MAID

August 16, 2009

Many years ago, on that stormy night, an old man and his wife went into a small hotel lobby in Philadelphia. Trying to avoid the rain, the couple approached the front desk to get a place to sleep. “Can you give us a room here?” asked the husband. The clerk, a friendly man with a smile at the couple and explained that there were three conventions in town. “All of our rooms have been full,” the waiter said. “But I can not send a nice couple like you out in the rain at one o’clock in the morning. Maybe you want to sleep in my room? Not much, but enough to make you sleep comfortably tonight.” When the couple hesitated, the young man pressed. “Do not worry about me. I’ll be fine,” said the waiter. So the couple agreed.

As the early morning when the bills are paid, the old man said to the waiter, “You are like a good manager should be the owner of the best hotels in America. Maybe someday I’ll build one for you.” The clerk looked at them and smiled. All three of them laughed. As the couple drove away, an elderly couple was agreed that the waiter was very helpful indeed exceptional, as finding people who are both friendly and helpful is not an easy thing.

Two years passed. The clerk had almost forgotten the incident when he received a letter from the old man is. The letter reminded him of the stormy night and accompanied by a round-trip ticket to New York, asking the young man came to visit the old couple. The old man met him in New York, and brought him to the corner of Fifth Avenue and 34th Street. He pointed to a magnificent new building there, a palace with the red rock of, with a tower that rose into the sky “That,” said the old man, “is the hotel I have just built for you to manage”. “You must be joking,” replied the young man. “I assure you, I do not,” said the old man, with a big smile. Name of the old man was William Waldorf Astor, and the structure of such an imposing building is the original form of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. The young man who later became the first manager was George C. Boldt. The young man will never forget the events that brought him to become manager of one of the most prestigious hotel chains in the world.

FLOW LIKE WATER

August 5, 2009

A man came to the Master, “Master, I was tired of life. It’s really saturated. My household mess. My business mess. Whatever I do is always a mess. I want to die.” The Master smiled, “Oh, you’re sick.” “No Master, I am not sick. I am healthy. Just fed up with life. That’s why I want to die.”

As if not to hear his defense, the Master continued, “You’re sick. And that sickness is called, ‘Allergies Life’. Yes, you are allergic to life.” The Murshid, the teacher was right. A lot of us are allergic to life. Then, we unconsciously do things contrary to the norms of life. This life goes on. The river of life flows on, but we want the status-quo. We stopped at a place, we do not come running. That’s why we fall ill. We invite disease. Our resistance, our refusal to join flow with life make us sick. Whose name the business, there must ebb and flow. In the case of married-stairs, small clashes that are natural, normal.

Friendship was not always permanent, not eternal. What is the lasting, eternal in this life? We are not aware of the nature of life. We want to maintain a state. Then we fail, disappointment and suffering. “Illness that can be cured, if you want to get well and are willing to follow the cue.” Thus the Master. “No Guru, no. I was totally saturated. No, I do not want to live.” he refused the offer of the teacher. “So you do not want to get well. You really want to die?” “Yes, indeed I was tired of life.” “Well, tomorrow afternoon you will die. Take this medicine bottles. Drink half the bottle tonight, half a bottle again tomorrow evening at six, and eight in the evening you will die in peace.” Turn he became confused. Each Master that he attended has always tried to give it zest for life. This one is strange. He even offered poison. But, because he was totally saturated, he gladly accepted.

Home, she immediately spent half a bottle of poison called “medicine” by the Master’s insane. And, he felt calm as he had never felt before. So relaxed, so relaxed! Stay 1 night, 1 day, and he will die. He will be freed from all kinds of problems. That night, he decided to have dinner with the family at a Japanese restaurant. Something he had not been doing for the last few years. Thinking last night, he wanted to leave good memories. As he ate, he was joking. The atmosphere is really relaxing! Before bed, he kissed her lips and whispered in her ear, “Honey, I love you.” Because the night was last night, he wanted to leave sweet memories! The next day you wake up, she opened the bedroom window and looked out. Refreshing morning breeze body. And he was tempted to do the road in the morning. Come home half an hour later, he found his wife still asleep. Without waking, he entered the kitchen and make 2 cups of coffee. One for himself, one for his wife.

Because the morning was the last morning, he wanted to leave sweet memories! The wife felt very strange, “Honey, what happened today? For this, maybe I’m wrong. Forgive me, dear.” At the office, she greeted each person, shaking hands with everyone. His staff was confused, “Today, we look strange Boss ya?” And their attitude changed instantly. They become soft. Because the afternoon was the last day, he wanted to leave sweet memories! Suddenly, everything around him changed. He became more friendly and tolerant, even appreciative of the opinions differ. Suddenly life becomes beautiful. He began to enjoy it. Come home at 5 pm, he found his beloved wife was waiting on the front porch. This time the wife actually gave her a kiss, “Unfortunately, once again I apologize if I’ve always bother you.” The kids did not want to miss, “Father, forgive us all. All this time, Dad always stressed that our behavior.” Suddenly, the river of life flowing again. Suddenly, life became very beautiful. He thought better to commit suicide. But what about half bottles that had he drank, the previous evening?

He went to the teacher again. Saw his face, apparently the teacher knows immediately what had happened, “Throw it out the bottle. The contents of water, you’ve healed, what if you live in the present, when you live with the awareness that death can pick you up at any time, then you will enjoy every second of life. Leburkan ego, arrogance, arrogance. Be gentle, soft water. And flowed along the river of life. You will not be saturated, will not be bored. You will feel alive. That is the secret of life. That is the key to happiness. That is the path to peace . ” The man thanked him and shook hands with the teacher, then come home, to repeat the experience the previous night. That said, he still continued to flow. He never forgot to live in the present. That’s why, he was always happy, always calm, always LIVE!

August 3, 2009

One day a poor boy was selling from house to house for school finance. He was hungry and thirsty, but unfortunately it has only very little money. The boy decided to ask for food from the nearest house. However, when a young girl opened the door, he lost his nerve. Finally he just asked for a glass of water to offer thirst. He drank it slowly, then asked, “How much I owe to you?” “You do not owe anything to me,” he said. “My mother taught to not get paid for good deeds we do.” The child replied, “Well, I can only say thank you from the bottom of my heart.” As Howard Kelly – a poor little boy was – left the house, he not only felt more refreshed himself, but his faith in God and fellow human beings become more powerful. Finally, with encouraging, he saw to it kuintansi. An inscription on the receipt had caught his attention. He read it: “HAVE BEEN PAID IN FULL WITH ONE GLASS OF MILK.
